IDEAS IN YOUR HANDS
If your mounts got damaged, you've lost some bolt or you've forgotten some necessary accessories for photography at home do not despair! Look for some stationary around (at least you may find a stationer's shop nearby).
You can always fasten things you use in photography with pins, paper-clips, magnets, scotch tape or in some cases glue them. And don't be afraid of looking awkward. Remember that it doesn't matter how a photographer, his camera or accessories look like, it matters only how good his photos are. Be imaginative and don't lose your chance to make a great picture because of trifles.
If a composition and conditions require immovable support but you don't have a tripod with you, look around and you'll find many more or less stable things, chairs, a table - indoors, and trunks, benches, fences, walls - if you are outdoors. It would be enugh to stand your camera on such a support or lean it against, hold your breath for a moment and click the shutter. But if there are no such things? You won't believe it! Your camera belt will help you! Put your hands close to your body - they will be your 2 fulcrums, the third one will be the belt of your camera. If doing this you will lean against the wall, the tree etc., you can even use ? or ? sec. exposure.
And never despair! If it rains or snows and your camera isn't humidity resistant - there are two ways to solve this problem: 1)you can buy a big bag, put it on your head and cut a hole for the objective lens. 2) or you can take a small bag, wrap your camera in it and tie elastic band around camera's objective. Sometimes you will need an extra little hole for the view finder. But of course this won't save your camera when it rains hard and you don't use a transparent filter to cover your fore lens, because it may got damaged. Though sometimes this technique is indispensable.
And don't you ever forget that the main technique and tool of a photographer is his quick wits and imagination.
